This essential teaching tool is creatively centered around a typical aviation Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) along with a pictorial representation of the aircraft’s orientation to the navaid and course selections. On the HSI, any combination of navigational indicators to include both the Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) or Bearing Pointer (BP) and the Course Deviation Indicator (CDI) commonly found in aviation can be selected. The pictorial map allows for hiding or showing the various orientation aspects as desired to validate an understanding of the aircraft’s position as well as wind effect.
